Edward D. Hoch is, as Ellery Queen's Mystery Magazine put it, "King of the Traditional Mystery," and during the past few months his work has received numerous awards - Lifetime Achievement Awards from both the Private Eye Writers of America and the Bouchercon, and the highest honor of all, the Grand Master Award from the Mystery Writers of America. His stories are masterpieces of fairplay cluing and puzzling.
Among Hoch's most famous characters is British espionage agent, Jeffery Rand. The Old Spies Club features Rand and his wife, half-Egyptian archeologist Leila Gaad, and traces the development and the end of the Cold War. Crippen & Landru is honored to publish four of Hoch's books - with more on the way.
